School Meals

School Meals menu - Autumn 2017

From September 2014 key stage one children (Reception, years 1 and 2) are entitled to a free school meal every day.

For key stage two pupils (years 3, 4, 5 and 6) the price is £2.10 per child per day (£10.50 per week) for a two course meal.

Payment should made by ParentPay. Please contact school if you do not know your ParentPay login details.

In addition to the universal free school meals for key stage one pupils, free school meals are available to children whose parents receive certain benefits.

These include one or more of the following:

  • income support;
  • income-based Jobseekers' allowance;
  • income-related employment and support allowance;
  • child tax credit with an income of less than £16,190 and not in receipt of working tax credit;
  • support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;
  • guarantee element of state pension credit.

Where parents are entitled to working tax credit during a four-week "run-on" period immediately after their employment has ceased, or after they have started to work fewer than 16 hours a week, their children in KS2 are entitled to free school meals.

In our school our meals;

  • have a three-menu cycle, allowing children to become familiar with the food served;
  • are changed every term to reflect the seasons; and
  • are written in consultation with pupils and cooks.

The school has achieved the “Healthy Schools Award”. The National Healthy Schools Programme (NHSP) is a joint Department of Health and Department for Children, Schools and Families project intended to improve health, raise pupil achievement, improve social inclusion and encourage closer working between health and education providers in the United Kingdom.

Children are welcome to bring their own packed lunch if they prefer and, in line with the Healthy School Award, we ask that you do not provide fizzy drinks or sweets.
